Ben Carter (PI)
B.S.- Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo 2003
Ph.D.- UC Berkeley 2012
Postdoc- Duke University
I'm interested broadly in plant diversification and biogeography. Most of my work focuses on bryophytes (mosses, liverworts & hornworts), and includes biogeography, herbarium and field research, physiology, and ecological field studies. I also have an interest in the diversification of North American Erysimum (Brassicaceae), the wallflowers, and in the conservation biology of Pedicularis dudleyi (Orobanchaceae).

Tracy Misiewicz, PhD
(Research Scientist) Tracy, a research scientist with affiliations at UC Berkeley, the University of Oklahoma, and SJSU, plays an active role in mentoring undergrad and grad students in the lab, and several of her peer-reviewed research papers have included SJSU co-authors. Tracy's interests focus on diversification in flowering plants. Her current interests lie in understanding how soil, climate, herbivores and other factors drive diversification in western wallflowers (Erysimum, Brassicaceae) in western North America.
